Lung Cancer Screening: General Overview

If caught early, lung cancer is curable. Unfortunately, most lung cancers are caught late and cannot be cured. Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) finds early lung cancers to allow the possibility of a cure.

in 2011, the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) showed an annual low dose chest CT scan (LDCT) reduced lung cancer deaths by 20%!

Currently, lung cancer screening is highly recommended for people aged 50 to 80 who have smoked 20 pack years and have smoked within the past 15 years. Also it’s important that the patient would undergo treatment and has a life expectancy of at least 5 years. Know your risk and get screened if you qualify.

Catch it early.

No one should die of lung cancer.
